Robert: What is your signature style?
Amy: I aim to create simple stylish luxury living tailored to suit each client individually – using a mix of both classic, contemporary and organic pieces.
Robert: Where do you find inspiration?
Amy: I find inspiration in nature and from the places I visit and travel to. As Paul Smith once said, “there is inspiration in everything, if you can’t see it – look again.” I like to visit all the design and decor trade shows and especially look forward to the international Milan design show for inspiration on current trends.
Robert: What does a successful project mean to you?
Amy: A successful job means a happy client, when I have created thoughtful and liveable spaces that the client loves.
Robert: If you had to give one piece of design advice what would that be?
Amy: Try to buy the best quality items you can afford , whether it be furniture or feature lighting- it will last longer and have more of an authentic feel in your home.
Robert: What inspired you to go into your design profession?
Amy: I would spend countless hours studying interior design magazines and constantly move furniture around my house – eventually an opportunity arose for me to change my career path and with a need for a creative outlet, my career into interior design began.
Robert: Your Top 5 favourite Pieces of Robert Thomson.com?
Amy: I’m a fan of the classic pieces he stocks- the tulip table and chairs, the Eames armchair, all the Tom Dixon lighting, the Cherner chairs are a real classic and the Hans Werner wishbone chair is really beautiful.
